Must Visit

Navarre Beach Fishing Pier

Navarre Beach Fishing Pier stretches 1,545 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, making it the longest pier in Florida. The pier anchors the Navarre Beach Marine Park, where you'll find white-sand beaches, picnic areas, and protected dunes. Whether you fish from the pier, watch the sunset, or simply walk out over the emerald waters, this spot captures what makes Navarre special. The area stays less crowded than neighboring beaches while offering the same stunning Gulf views and clean sand. Local fishermen catch Spanish mackerel, redfish, and king mackerel depending on the season. This is where residents come to unwind and where visitors realize Navarre offers something different - authentic beach life without the crowds.

Did You Know?

Navarre takes its name from the Kingdom of Navarre, a medieval Basque kingdom that once spanned parts of present-day Spain and France. Spanish explorers arrived in the area in the 1500s, and the name honors that European heritage. For most of its history, Navarre remained undeveloped and difficult to access, with only a few fishing camps scattered along the coast. The area served as a bombing and gunnery range during World War II when the military needed isolated coastal land for training exercises. It wasn't until 1991 that the Navarre Beach Bridge connected the barrier island to the mainland, opening up the area to residential development. Before the bridge, residents and visitors had to take a ferry or drive around through Pensacola Beach to reach the island.
